<p data-start="516" data-end="733">Today, I’m sharing a fragrant recipe with cheese, butter, rosemary, and garlic in a soft, fluffy dough. If you enjoy bold flavours, you might also love my <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2024/05/14/spicy-garlic-oil-pasta/"><strong data-start="671" data-end="697">Spicy Garlic Oil Pasta</strong></a>, another quick and aromatic dish.</p>
<p data-start="741" data-end="846">These twists add a savoury note to your table and are a unique way to bring joy to every family member.</p>
<p data-start="854" data-end="1058">I’ve been experimenting with twists like these — butter, garlic, cheese, and herbs — for over six months. Finding the perfect balance of flavours was a challenge, but I don’t stop until it’s just right.</p>
<p data-start="1066" data-end="1268">Over the years, I’ve shared other favourite bread recipes, as we love warm, fragrant bread. Try my <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2025/01/30/rosemary-foccacia-bread/"><strong data-start="1165" data-end="1192">Rosemary Focaccia Bread</strong></a>, <strong data-start="1194" data-end="1221">Cheese-Stuffed Pretzels</strong>, or <strong data-start="1226" data-end="1244">Aromatic Rolls</strong> — all crowd-pleasers.</p>
<p data-start="1276" data-end="1439">If you enjoy experimenting with doughs, my guide<a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2025/03/27/how-to-make-yeast-dough-easy-steps-for-perfect-results/"> <strong data-start="1325" data-end="1384">How to Make Yeast Dough: Easy Steps for Perfect Results</strong></a> will help you achieve soft, fluffy bread every time.</p>

<hr />
<h3 data-start="1688" data-end="1706">Recipe Details</h3>
<p data-start="1708" data-end="1867">With this new recipe, I want to give you as many details as possible to guide you through the steps and help you achieve the best Cheese, Garlic &amp; Herb Twists.</p>
<p data-start="1869" data-end="2020">Below you’ll find a practical guide to adapting this recipe depending on what you have on hand or if you don’t have the exact same ingredients as I do.</p>
<hr />
<h3 data-start="2027" data-end="2039">Step 1</h3>
<p data-start="2040" data-end="2249">Make sure you have fresh, good-quality ingredients like: softened butter at room temperature, fresh or dried rosemary, fresh or dried parsley, freshly grated or crushed garlic, and a selection of hard cheeses.</p>
<h3 data-start="2251" data-end="2263">Step 2</h3>
<p data-start="2264" data-end="2318">Prepare the dough and let it rise for about 1.5 hours.</p>
<h3 data-start="2320" data-end="2332">Step 3</h3>
<p data-start="2333" data-end="2501">Prepare the butter mixture. In a bowl, mix softened butter with finely chopped rosemary, parsley, and crushed garlic. Don’t add salt, as the cheese will provide enough.</p>
<h3 data-start="2503" data-end="2515">Step 4</h3>
<p data-start="2516" data-end="2564">Grate the cheese finely for better distribution.</p>
<h3 data-start="2566" data-end="2578">Step 5</h3>
<p data-start="2579" data-end="2638">Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about 60 x 35 cm.</p>
<h3 data-start="2640" data-end="2652">Step 6</h3>
<p data-start="2653" data-end="2747">Spread the aromatic butter evenly over the dough, making sure it covers all edges and corners.</p>
<h3 data-start="2749" data-end="2761">Step 7</h3>
<p data-start="2762" data-end="2863">Sprinkle the grated cheese on top and gently press it in with a spoon to help it stick to the butter.</p>
<h3 data-start="2865" data-end="2877">Step 8</h3>
<p data-start="2878" data-end="3084">Fold the dough like a book, then cut it into 10–12 strips (depending on your preference). Cut each strip in half lengthwise, but leave a small uncut end so the twist stays together (see the photo for help).</p>
<hr />
<p data-start="2878" data-end="3084"><a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/garlic-cheese-herb-twists-cutted/"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-584" src="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-473x1024.jpg" alt="Rectangular homemade dough rolled out on a floured surface, ready to be spread with garlic, herb butter and cheese for making twists." width="473" height="1024" srcset="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-473x1024.jpg 473w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-139x300.jpg 139w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-768x1663.jpg 768w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-710x1536.jpg 710w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-946x2048.jpg 946w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-640x1385.jpg 640w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-cutted-scaled.jpg 1183w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /></a></p>
<hr />
<p data-start="2878" data-end="3084">
<p data-start="2878" data-end="3084">
<h3 data-start="3086" data-end="3098">Step 9</h3>
<p data-start="3099" data-end="3254">Twist each strip carefully to keep the cheese inside, then place them on a baking tray. You can also shape them into a circle if you like or have the time.</p>
<h3 data-start="3256" data-end="3269">Step 10</h3>
<p data-start="3270" data-end="3397">Let the twists rise for another 20 minutes. Brush them with an egg yolk mixed with a bit of milk, then bake until golden brown.</p>
<hr />
<p data-start="3270" data-end="3397"><a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/garlic-cheese-herb-twists-before-oven/"><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-581" src="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven-663x1024.jpg" alt="Homemade garlic, cheese, and herb twists arranged on a baking tray, brushed with egg wash, ready to go into the oven." width="663" height="1024" srcset="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven-663x1024.jpg 663w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven-194x300.jpg 194w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven-768x1186.jpg 768w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven-994x1536.jpg 994w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven-640x989.jpg 640w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-before-oven.jpg 1250w" sizes="(max-width: 663px) 100vw, 663px" /></a></p>
<hr />
<hr />
<h3 data-start="3404" data-end="3427">Adapting the Recipe</h3>
<p data-start="3429" data-end="3610">Adapting recipes is fun and lets you discover new, delicious combinations.</p>
<p data-start="3429" data-end="3610">For instance, if you like light and fresh flavours, try my <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2024/05/14/quinoa-and-spinach-salad-with-fresh-mint-dressing-and-pomegranate/"><strong data-start="3228" data-end="3289">Quinoa Pomegranate Spinach Salad with Fresh Mint Dressing</strong></a>. Or for something sweet after baking, my <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2020/04/03/lemon-bars-2/"><strong data-start="3331" data-end="3345">Lemon Bars</strong></a> and <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2020/03/26/chocolate-muffins/"><strong data-start="3350" data-end="3371">Chocolate Muffins</strong></a> make a perfect treat.</p>
<h4 data-start="3612" data-end="3625">Cheese</h4>
<p data-start="3626" data-end="3809">I used Parmesan and well-drained salty sheep cheese. I highly recommend Parmesan for its unique flavour, which pairs beautifully with rosemary and garlic. If you don’t have those, try:</p>
<ul>
<li data-start="3813" data-end="3822">Cheddar</li>
<li data-start="3825" data-end="3837">Mozzarella</li>
<li data-start="3840" data-end="3847">Gouda</li>
<li data-start="3850" data-end="3901">Or any cheese that’s well-drained and not too soft.</li>
</ul>
<p data-start="3903" data-end="3971">Mixing different cheeses gives the dish a complex, delicious flavour.</p>
<p data-start="3973" data-end="4095">Keep the cheese amount around 80–100 grams. Using more can make the twists hard to shape and cause the cheese to slip out.</p>
<h4 data-start="4097" data-end="4120">Garlic and Herbs</h4>
<p data-start="4121" data-end="4255">If you don’t have fresh garlic cloves, you can substitute with garlic powder (about 2 teaspoons), but the flavour will be less intense.</p>
<p data-start="4257" data-end="4301">I recommend fresh garlic for the best aroma.</p>
<p data-start="4303" data-end="4501">For herbs, you can replace rosemary and parsley with dill, oregano, basil, or thyme. Use half the amount if the herbs are dried (e.g., if the recipe calls for 1 tsp fresh rosemary, use ½ tsp dried).</p>
<p data-start="4503" data-end="4590">Want a spicy kick? Add chili flakes or smoked paprika to the butter mixture.</p>
<hr />
<p data-start="4503" data-end="4590"><a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/garlic-cheese-herb-twists-the-butter/"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-582" src="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter-644x1024.jpg" alt="Small bowl of soft garlic and herb butter, mixed with minced garlic, chopped parsley, and rosemary, ready to be spread over homemade dough" width="644" height="1024" srcset="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter-644x1024.jpg 644w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter-189x300.jpg 189w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter-768x1222.jpg 768w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter-965x1536.jpg 965w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter-640x1018.jpg 640w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-the-butter.jpg 1250w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px" /></a></p>
<hr />
<h4 data-start="4592" data-end="4609">Experiment</h4>
<p data-start="4610" data-end="4713">Try adding chopped nuts, poppy seeds, or sesame seeds for a crunchy texture and an extra special touch.</p>
<h4 data-start="4715" data-end="4752">Flour Amount and Dough Texture</h4>
<p data-start="4753" data-end="4858">I’ve made these twists with varying amounts of flour to find the perfect balance between soft and crispy.</p>
<ul data-start="4860" data-end="5179">
<li data-start="4860" data-end="5051">
<p data-start="4862" data-end="5051">For soft twists, use 400g flour and lightly oil your surface. Bake until golden for a soft texture.</p>
</li>
<li data-start="5055" data-end="5179">
<p data-start="5057" data-end="5179">For crunchier twists, use up to 450g of flour to get a firmer dough that doesn’t stick. These will be crispier when baked.</p>
</li>
</ul>
<p data-start="5181" data-end="5321">Personal preference matters! Some people prefer soft and fluffy twists; others like a crispy texture that contrasts nicely with the filling.</p>
<p data-start="5181" data-end="5321">
<hr />
<h3 data-start="5328" data-end="5346">Final Thoughts</h3>
<p data-start="234" data-end="411">Now you have all the details to make the most delicious Cheese, Garlic &amp; Herb Twists. It’s time to get baking and experiment with the flavours and cheeses your kitchen offers.</p>
<p data-start="419" data-end="586">If you enjoy these twists, you might also like to try something sweet afterwards — my <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2020/10/13/oranges-and-cocoa-pound-cake/"><strong data-start="505" data-end="537">Oranges and Cocoa Pound Cake</strong> </a>is rich, moist, and packed with citrusy aroma.</p>
<p data-start="594" data-end="746">For another savoury option, perfect for brunch or a light lunch, my <a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2025/07/04/zucchini-cheese-dill-waffles/"><strong data-start="662" data-end="697">Zucchini, Cheese &amp; Dill Waffles</strong></a> are fluffy, cheesy, and full of fresh flavour.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/garlic-cheese-herb-twists-3/"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-579" src="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-607x1024.jpg" alt="Golden-brown homemade garlic, cheese, and herb twists on a baking tray, topped with sesame seeds and freshly grated Parmesan, ready to serve as a snack or appetizer" width="607" height="1024" srcset="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-607x1024.jpg 607w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-178x300.jpg 178w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-768x1296.jpg 768w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-910x1536.jpg 910w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-1214x2048.jpg 1214w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3-640x1080.jpg 640w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Garlic-Cheese-Herb-Twists-3.jpg 1250w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 607px) 100vw, 607px" /></a></p>

<h1 data-start="326" data-end="364">FAQ – Garlic, Cheese &amp; Herb Twists</h1>
<h3 data-start="366" data-end="441">1. Can I use store-bought puff pastry instead of making my own dough?</h3>
<p data-start="442" data-end="596">Yes, you can, but the texture and flavour will be different. Homemade dough is soft, fluffy, and has a rustic taste that puff pastry can’t fully replicate.</p>
<h3 data-start="598" data-end="642">2. Can I make the dough ahead of time?</h3>
<p data-start="643" data-end="786">Absolutely. You can prepare the dough the day before, let it rise, then refrigerate it. Bring it to room temperature before shaping and baking.</p>
<h3 data-start="788" data-end="820">3. What cheeses work best?</h3>
<p data-start="821" data-end="981">Sheep cheese (like feta) and Parmesan are perfect. You can also mix in a mild mozzarella for extra stretchiness, but avoid very soft cheeses that are too runny.</p>
<h3 data-start="983" data-end="1016">4. Can I freeze the twists?</h3>
<p data-start="1017" data-end="1161">Yes! Twist them, place them on a tray, freeze, then transfer to a bag. Bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.</p>
<h3 data-start="1163" data-end="1213">5. How do I prevent the cheese from leaking?</h3>
<p data-start="1214" data-end="1355">Do not overfill — total cheese should be under 100 g. Also, press the cheese gently into the butter layer so it stays inside during twisting.</p>
<h3 data-start="1357" data-end="1405">6. Can I use dried herbs instead of fresh?</h3>
<p data-start="1406" data-end="1504">Yes, just use half the amount. For example, ½ teaspoon dried rosemary instead of 1 teaspoon fresh.</p>
<h3 data-start="1506" data-end="1552">7. How long can I store leftover twists?</h3>
<p data-start="1553" data-end="1654">Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days. Reheat in the oven for best texture.</p>
<h3 data-start="1656" data-end="1701">8. Can I make smaller or bigger twists?</h3>
<p data-start="1702" data-end="1816">Yes, but adjust the baking time accordingly. Smaller twists bake faster, bigger ones may need a few extra minutes.</p>
<h3 data-start="1818" data-end="1851">9. Can I add other flavours?</h3>
<p data-start="1852" data-end="2007">Sure! You can add a pinch of chili flakes, smoked paprika, or swap parsley with basil. Just don’t add extra wet ingredients or it may make the dough soggy.</p>
<h3 data-start="2009" data-end="2043">10. Can I skip the egg wash?</h3>
<p data-start="2044" data-end="2154">Yes, but the twists will be less shiny and golden. You can also brush with milk or butter for a softer finish.</p>

This <strong>Homemade Pumpkin Soup</strong> is one of those recipes that make your kitchen smell amazing while staying easy and wholesome.</p>
<p data-start="443" data-end="767">Unlike many versions that rely on stock cubes or ready-made broth, my soup is made entirely with <strong data-start="540" data-end="560">fresh vegetables</strong> — simple ingredients you most likely already have at home. It’s a perfect way to use up those veggies sitting in your fridge, and the result is a silky, flavourful soup that both kids and adults will love.</p>
<p data-start="769" data-end="894">My children especially enjoy dipping toasted bread into it — it’s cosy, delicious, and makes everyone happy around the table.</p>

<h3 data-start="1314" data-end="1369"><strong data-start="1321" data-end="1369">How to Prepare the Pumpkin Soup Step-by-Step</strong></h3>
<ol>
<li data-start="1374" data-end="1436">Wash and peel all the vegetables, keeping them ready to use.</li>
<li data-start="1440" data-end="1578">In a medium pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the <strong data-start="1496" data-end="1527">onion, carrots, and parsnip</strong>, and sauté for about 3–4 minutes until fragrant.</li>
<li data-start="1582" data-end="1697">Add the <strong data-start="1590" data-end="1607">garlic cloves</strong>, <strong data-start="1609" data-end="1624">bell pepper</strong>, and both <strong data-start="1635" data-end="1647">potatoes</strong>. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring gently.</li>
<li data-start="1701" data-end="1805">Add the <strong data-start="1709" data-end="1726">pumpkin cubes</strong>, <strong data-start="1728" data-end="1737">thyme</strong>, <strong data-start="1739" data-end="1747">salt</strong>, and <strong data-start="1753" data-end="1763">pepper</strong>. Stir and cook for another few minutes.</li>
<li data-start="1809" data-end="1906">Pour in <strong data-start="1817" data-end="1862">enough water to just cover the vegetables</strong> — not too much, so the soup stays creamy.</li>
<li data-start="1910" data-end="2003">Cover the pot and let it simmer until the vegetables are tender and some water has reduced.</li>
<li data-start="2007" data-end="2072">Once slightly cooled, blend everything until smooth and creamy.</li>
<li data-start="2076" data-end="2120">Adjust seasoning if needed and serve warm.</li>
</ol>
<hr />
<h3 data-start="2127" data-end="2175"><strong data-start="2134" data-end="2175">Tips for the Best Creamy Pumpkin Soup</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li data-start="2179" data-end="2267">Use <strong data-start="2183" data-end="2213">fresh, seasonal vegetables</strong> — they bring out a naturally sweet and deep flavour.</li>
<li data-start="2270" data-end="2337">Don’t add too much water; you can always thin it later if needed.</li>
<li data-start="2340" data-end="2438">For a richer taste, drizzle a few drops of olive oil or add a bit of cream right before serving.</li>
<li data-start="2441" data-end="2523">Top with roasted pumpkin seeds or a swirl of yogurt for extra texture and colour.</li>
</ul>
<hr />
<h3 data-start="2530" data-end="2560"><strong data-start="2537" data-end="2560">Serving Suggestions</strong></h3>
<p data-start="2562" data-end="2849">This creamy soup pairs beautifully with a slice of <strong data-start="2613" data-end="2645"><a class="decorated-link" href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2025/01/30/rosemary-foccacia-bread/" rel="noopener" data-start="2615" data-end="2643">Rosemary Focaccia Bread</a></strong> – soft, fragrant, and perfect for dipping.<br data-start="2688" data-end="2691" />If you prefer something lighter on the side, try my <strong data-start="2743" data-end="2809"><a class="decorated-link" href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2024/05/14/quinoa-and-spinach-salad-with-fresh-mint-dressing-and-pomegranate/" rel="noopener" data-start="2745" data-end="2807">Quinoa Pomegranate Spinach Salad with Fresh Mint Dressing</a></strong> – it adds a fresh, colourful contrast.</p>

<h3 data-start="514" data-end="542">Why you’ll love them</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong data-start="201" data-end="219">Quick and easy</strong> – ready in just a few steps, no complicated prep</li>
<li><strong data-start="275" data-end="293">No deep frying</strong> – they’re cooked in the waffle maker, no greasy mess</li>
<li><strong data-start="353" data-end="375">Bold, fresh flavour</strong> – lots of garlic and dill, rich and savoury</li>
<li><strong data-start="425" data-end="447">No draining needed</strong> – you use the whole zucchini, no waiting time</li>
<li><strong data-start="500" data-end="523">Soft and satisfying</strong> – fluffy texture, yet packed with taste</li>
</ul>
<p data-start="543" data-end="758">This recipe checks all the boxes when you&#8217;re short on time but still want something homemade and full of flavour.</p>
<p data-start="543" data-end="758">They&#8217;re perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner with a salad.  And that combo of zucchini, cheese, and dill? So fresh and delicious!</p>
<p data-start="543" data-end="758">I often make them when I have leftover zucchini in the fridge and no desire to cook something complicated. They’re also great for kids (they won’t even notice the veggies), lunchboxes, or lazy brunches on weekends.</p>
<p data-start="543" data-end="758">And if you’re in the mood for more savoury bites, these <b> <a class="" href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2021/02/09/spinach-cheese-onion-and-fresh-garlic-muffins/" rel="noopener" data-start="489" data-end="535">Spinach, Cheese, Onion and Garlic Muffins</a> </b> or <a class="" href="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/2020/04/10/cheese-and-carrot-muffins/" rel="noopener" data-start="539" data-end="569"><strong>Cheese and Carrot Muffins</strong></a> are just as easy and delicious – great for lunchboxes or snacks.</p>

<p>Who doesn’t love the taste of fresh, homemade croissants, soft and fluffy, filled with sweet jam? This recipe is perfect for anyone looking to make delicious croissants at home, with a soft and airy dough. Whether for breakfast or a quick snack, these jam croissants are always a winner!</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-455" src="http://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Fluffy-Jam-Croissants-5-999x1024.jpg" alt="Soft and pillowy on the inside, revealing the sweet jam filling that makes each bite irresistible!" width="750" height="769" srcset="https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Fluffy-Jam-Croissants-5-999x1024.jpg 999w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Fluffy-Jam-Croissants-5-293x300.jpg 293w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Fluffy-Jam-Croissants-5-768x787.jpg 768w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Fluffy-Jam-Croissants-5-640x656.jpg 640w, https://www.mihaelasrecipes.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Fluffy-Jam-Croissants-5.jpg 1053w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<hr />
<p>For me, this type of recipe is a traditional one I grew up with. Fluffy croissants filled with jam—especially with plum or grape jam—were a common treat in our home.</p>
<p>Often, when we didn’t have any fancy ingredients at hand, these simple, delicious croissants were made with love. It’s a dish that reminds me of the old days, just like how our grandmothers used to make them every year in Romania.</p>
<p>Their fluffy, fragrant croissants were always a real treat, bringing warmth and nostalgia.</p>
<p>I made this recipe so often, sometimes weekly, and on occasions even more than once a week. So, allow me to share everything I know about these fluffy croissants with you!</p>
<hr />
<h3>How to Prepare the Dough for Jam Croissants;</h3>
<p class="" data-start="293" data-end="511">Making the dough for jam croissants is easier than it might sound, and with just a few simple ingredients, you&#8217;ll have soft, fluffy croissants ready to be filled with your favourite jam. Here’s how to prepare the dough:</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="513" data-end="548"><strong data-start="518" data-end="548">Step 1: Activate the Yeast</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="549" data-end="846">To start, warm up the milk. It should be lukewarm, around 100°F (40°C), but not hot. Add the yeast and a teaspoon of sugar to the milk, and stir. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This step is crucial to ensure that the yeast is active and will help your dough rise beautifully.</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="848" data-end="892"><strong data-start="853" data-end="892">Step 2: Combine the Wet Ingredients</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="893" data-end="1099">In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and orange zest (if you’re using it). Add the oil to the mixture, and then pour in the milk with the activated yeast. Stir to combine everything smoothly.</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="1101" data-end="1141"><strong data-start="1106" data-end="1141">Step 3: Mix the Dry Ingredients</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="1142" data-end="1381">In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour and salt together. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix gently, using a spoon or a spatula, until everything begins to come together. You want a sticky dough, but not too wet.</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="1383" data-end="1415"><strong data-start="1388" data-end="1415">Step 4: Knead the Dough</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="1416" data-end="1720">Once the ingredients are mixed, it&#8217;s time to knead. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. If it’s too sticky, you can add a little more flour, but be careful not to add too much as it can make the dough too dense. &#8220;Personally, I’ve kneaded the dough for less than 10 minutes, sometimes even just 5 minutes, and it worked perfectly!&#8221; If you have a stand mixer, feel free to let it do all the work for you.</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="1722" data-end="1757"><strong data-start="1727" data-end="1757">Step 5: Let the Dough Rise</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="1758" data-end="1993">Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a clean towel or plastic wrap. Allow it to rise in a warm place for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until it has doubled in size. This step is essential for light, airy croissants.</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="1995" data-end="2042"><strong data-start="2000" data-end="2042">Step 6: Punch Down and Shape the Dough</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="2043" data-end="2309">Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down gently to release the air. Divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a circle and cut it into 8 even wedges (like a pizza). This is where the magic happens, so take your time to shape them evenly.</p>
<h4 class="" data-start="2311" data-end="2345"><strong data-start="2316" data-end="2345">Step 7: Ready for Filling</strong></h4>
<p class="" data-start="2346" data-end="2576">Now that your dough is ready, you can start filling each croissant with a teaspoon of your chosen jam. Roll them up gently into a crescent shape and place them on a lined baking sheet, leaving space between each one for expansion.</p>
<p data-start="2346" data-end="2576">You can get creative with the filling for your croissants. These fluffy treats can be filled not only with jam but also with Turkish delight or ricotta cheese (well-drained) mixed with a little vanilla and raisins for a delicious variation.</p>

<h3 class="" data-start="92" data-end="163"><strong data-start="96" data-end="163">Choosing the Right Jam for Your Croissants: Consistency Matters</strong></h3>
<p class="" data-start="165" data-end="520">When making these fluffy jam croissants, the choice of jam is crucial for achieving the perfect texture. You want a jam that is thick and consistent enough not to leak out of the croissants while baking. Some store-bought jams, especially those with a higher water content, tend to soften and run when exposed to heat, which can create a mess in the oven.</p>
<p class="" data-start="522" data-end="805">For the best results, look for jams or preserves that have a firm consistency. <strong data-start="601" data-end="615">Quince jam</strong> is a popular choice, but you can also use other fruit preserves that are thicker. I recommend avoiding very runny jams, as they will ooze out of the croissants and make them less enjoyable.</p>
<p class="" data-start="807" data-end="1077">If you want a non-fruit option, feel free to use <strong data-start="856" data-end="867">Nutella </strong>but<strong data-start="856" data-end="867">, </strong>others may not hold up as well during baking. You can also use chocolate chips, like those typically used in muffins, for a delightful twist<strong data-start="856" data-end="867">!</strong></p>
<p class="" data-start="807" data-end="1077">They hold their shape better during baking and create a delicious, indulgent filling. Just be mindful not to overfill the croissants to avoid any spillage during the baking process.</p>

<p class="" data-start="2914" data-end="3065"><strong data-start="2914" data-end="2948">Fill the Croissants Moderately</strong>: Use about one teaspoon of jam per croissant. Too much filling can cause the jam to overflow and affect the texture.</p>
